This is a departure from my normal blog format, as if I actually have one. This time around is more of an update, mixed with some tidbits and an unfiltered stream of consciousness, and sprinkled with a touch of ramblings. So with no further adieu, here we go:
First off, I received my first royalty payment for "Dead Man's Breath". It's enough to pay my bar tab on a slow night, but I suppose it qualifies me as "Professional Writer". In all seriousness, it was a very humbling milestone and I am very grateful.
I hope everyone had a Happy and Healthy Thanksgiving. As we head into a month traditionally filled with parties and gatherings, please use good judgement as it regards it public safety. That includes utilizing a designated driver.
Work on the sequel to "Dead Man's Breath" has progressed faster than I anticipated. The first draft could be "finished" in a week to 10 days, but, as I have previously stated, I will be taking my time with getting this one totally polished, before it's released. I will say that it should be available in the first half of 2021.
2021 will also likely see the release of a collection of short stories, all in the crime fiction genre. At least one of these stories features our old friend, Clay Sullivan.
In this day and age, Social Media is an absolute must when marketing anything and books are no exception. Unfortunately, it is a remarkably confusing, complicated landscape. I will make every effort to make this website the hub for everything related to my writing.
That being said, some items are tailored more for certain platforms. I will be likely be posting some photos on my Instagram that I won't post elsewhere. If you haven't done so already, please follow my Instagram Tyler Cates (@tylercatesauthor) • Instagram photos and videos
Links to my other social media platforms can be found at the bottom of this page ad on my News & Events link (under Bio).
Again, if you have already read "Dead Man's Breath" and enjoyed it, please leave a positive review on Amazon.
Thank you and I'll talk to you soon.
